Sophie is President of CFA Society Montreal and Chair of the Canadian Advocacy Council Oversight Committee. She also serves on many not-for-profit boards and committees.

Jennifer Reynolds is the President and CEO of Women in Capital Markets and has been an active advocate and supporter of the advancement of women in the industry over her career. Prior to joining WCM, Jennifer spent 15 years working in the capital markets industry, primarily in Investment Banking, holding senior roles with BMO Capital Markets and Stonecap Securities, and in the venture capital industry with OMERS Ventures. Jennifer is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Women's Leadership program, and she received her MBA from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Economics and Political Science from McGill University.

Debra Margles grew up in Montreal, Quebec and from a young age knew she wanted to pursue her dreams of working in the fashion industry. After four years of studying Business and Economics at FIT, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1984. Debra’s first job out of university was for Perry Ellis Portfolio where she worked for several years before deciding to leave New York, move back to Canada and launch the Canadian division. In 1987, Debra moved on to be the Partner and VP for Pretty Talk, an importer of better ladies and menswear in Canada. In September 2001, Debra became the President of Kasper and Anne Klein Canada, reporting to John Idol, CEO of Kasper ASL in the USA. In 2003, the Jones Apparel Group acquired Kasper ASL and after 9 months, Debra resigned and was hired to be the president of Michael Kors Canada. Since September 2004, Debra has led the Canadian team of Michael Kors to be leaders in the luxury fashion landscape in Canada. With over 40 retail locations, 700 employees and a Canadian run ecommerce website, Debra continues to be motivated everyday by the talent she surrounds herself with, the constant digital innovations of the brand and the continuous excitement of the fashion world today.

Martina Buchal is an internationally recognized speaker, coach, and consultant, with a background in law and diplomacy, recently selected as Real Leaders Magazine's #34 most Visionary Leader. advisory mandates such as advising the Board of Directors of RONA on the unsolicited approach by Lowe’s, the
recapitalization of Yellow Media and the strategic reorganization of Gaz Métro, and helped companies raise over

Mélanie is an Associate in Foreign Exchange Electronic Trading at CIBC World
Markets. She is experienced in managing institutional clients and developing trading
strategies in algorithmic trading. Mélanie has a deep knowledge of the capital markets
and risk management practices. Prior to joining the e-Trading desk, Mélanie was part of
the FX and Precious Metals Sales desk where she contributed in deepening existing client
relationships and cultivating new ones. She has worked in New York, Toronto, Montreal and
Alongside her professional career, Mélanie is actively involved in the Financial Women associations. She is a member of the Steering committee and the Co-Chair of the UniConnect Marketing Committee at Women in Capital Markets. She is a Co-Leader at the CIBC Women’s Network association and is also an active member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.

Yifan Song is an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. She joined the Montreal
team in 2014 as a generalist and has since worked a variety of transactions across different
sectors including telecommunications, entertainment, internet and industrials, Prior to joining
RBC Capital Markets, Yifan spent a summer as an intern at BCG Montreal. Yifan is currently on
the steering committee of Women in Capital Markets and is part of the organizing committee for
Association des femmes en finance du Québec’s annual gala.

Patricia Baker joined Scotiabank GBM in April 2009 as an analyst covering the retailing sector. In

Andrea Sharkey is the Senior Manager of Market Insights at CBC/Radio-Canada’s Corporate office in Ottawa and has a PhD in sociology from Carleton University with a focus on youth engagement. In her role at CBC/Radio-Canada, Andrea oversees all national internal research for the Corporation as well as the ongoing development of the pan-Canadian Media Technology Monitor (MTM) survey which interviews 12,000 Canadians annually concerning their adoption and use of media technology and activities. As the lead coordinator and researcher for the MTM, Andrea has worked to expand the MTM from an internal data source to the premier media technology product that it is today. Julia Cyboran has been with LOULOU for over 10 years. In her current role as Group Publisher of LOULOU and Châtelaine she epitomises the modern day media leader and drives the brand vision for the brand across all platforms including the magazine, website and emerging technology like the iPad. entrepreneurial background. Her mother owner of a home improvement boutique,
and her dad President and Founder of Hydrocom International.
After joining the family business in 1993, Ms. Rouleau takes on the role of Executive Vice-President two years later. The next year she goes on to establish Hydrocom USA in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2000, the family business is sold to Maclean Power Systems and she assumes the role of President of Maclean Power Systems Canada. Later on she assumes the role of President of “Société de Gestion du Commensal” ,part of the Lucie and Andre Chagnon Foundation.
Trilingual, Ms. Rouleau sits on the Board of Administrators of Maid in Montreal and participates in a consultative committee at the Caisse de Depot du Quebec on entrepreneurship. Christine is a social entrepreneur, and E-180’s CEO. Before founding
E-180, Christine graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a Knox Fellow,
focusing on informal learning, and worked was a Podcast producer for New York-based
Christine was recognized by BizBash in 2015 as one of the Most Innovative People in the Event Industry as well as Startup Canada Female Entrepreneur of the Year (Quebec). She is a contributing author to the book Knowmads Society and has shared her work with E-180 as a speaker in conferences such as Tech Open Air (Berlin), C2 Montreal, SxSW 2013/2014 and #140edu in New York.
She is an advisor for multiple emerging tech or social enterprises, notably in the context of the Harvard i-Lab, Technovation Challenge for girls and the Founder Institute, as well as during events such as the Startup Weekend Edu on Hacking Health. She is currently training for a triathlon even though frankly, she can’t run for her life.

Cindy Ho practice is primarily focused in the area of business law. She has
acquired practical knowledge and experience in a wide range of fields including corporate and
commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions as well as public and
regulatory law with a particular focus on marketing, advertising, consumer protection,
Charter of the French Language and alcohol permits and regulations. In addition, Cindy
is involved in various national and international business transactions, with a particular
emphasis on China related matters. She also assists corporations in their general business
operations by negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial agreements as well as
researching regarding specific corporate matters. In addition, Cindy supports the firm’s
lawyers in larger files, namely in international trade and customs law and intellectual property.
Prior to joining DS Lawyers, Cindy practiced as a lawyer and articled at a top tier national law firm in Canada. After receiving an entrance scholarship for excellent academic achievement, she completed her Licentiate in Law (LL.L), magna cum laude (with high honor), at University of Ottawa, where she was member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the Dean’s Honour Roll. Following completion of her civil law degree, Ms. Ho went on to complete a Juris Doctor (J.D.) at Université de Montréal. Laura Gheorghiu is a tax partner in Gowling WLG’s Montréal office.
Laura’s practice focuses on corporate tax advice, tax dispute resolution, as well as
international and domestic tax planning, and contract law (with emphasis on tax consequences
of contractual provisions).
Laura’s practice includes planning and implementing Canadian inbound and outbound investment structures, contract structuring, domestic and multi-national private equity funds and corporate reorganizations.
Her dispute resolution practice includes representing clients in their dealings with the Canada Revenue Agency and the Québec Revenue Agency at the audit and notice of objection stages and preparing voluntary disclosures on income tax and sales tax issues. Laura has also advised on issues with respect to employer payroll and pension obligations, Federal and Québec value added taxes (GST/HST and QST) and Québec commodity taxes (in particular with respect to fuel and alcohol).
Laura placed first in the LLM-Tax program at HEC Montréal. Her master's thesis focused on Canada's thin capitalization regime. Laura also spent a term studying at ESCEM School of Business and Management in France as part of her business administration studies.

Nicole Kappos joined Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) in 1997 and has occupied functions of increasing responsibilities in the areas of business development, customer satisfaction, marketing account management, contracts and procurement. Nicole is currently in the Strategy and Business Development team focusing on partnership and strategic initiatives. As Program Manager, Nicole is working with partners to develop and implement a new business model for P&WC’s latest engine program once it enters service at the end of 2017. At P&WC, Nicole has been a member of the Women’s Leadership group since its inception in 2007. This forum promotes career development, enables networking and mentoring and encourages the sharing of best practices within the organization. Nicole holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Concordia University and an MBA from Queen’s University. An active participant in supporting fundraising events, Nicole has participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a cycling event from Montreal to Quebec City for the last five years.

Samantha Welscheid has over twelve years of experience in assurance and advisory services, including financial audit, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and international financial reporting standards projects in various industries, notably telecommunications, consumer business, and the real estate sector. She also has project management expertise, which she developed in her role leading a strategic global project for Deloitte’s Audit practice over a two-year period. After graduating from McGill Management, Jonathan joined HSBC in 2004. He is currently a Vice President in Corporate Banking for the Montreal and South Shore region. Jonathan oversees a team of relationship managers, analysts and support staff that are responsible for client coverage, sales, risk & portfolio management. Over the course of his international career with HSBC, Jonathan took on various roles including an international secondment to France where he headed the International Corporate Team based in Paris.
